Moore Than a Series
Hello!
Moore About Moore is a storytelling project born from my admiration for Moore County and the remarkable people who have made me realize what a true gem this community is.
Every conversation I've had has offered a different perspective. Together, those stories have given me a deeper understanding of what it means to call Moore County home, and inspired me to share that experience with others.
Through short documentary-style interviews, cinematic storytelling, and community-centered conversations, Moore About Moore is creating a living portrait of the people, places, and experiences that shape our county. One conversation at a time.
How it Started
When I moved to Moore County, I found myself asking a simple question:
How will I make this place feel like home?
I craved that feeling of belonging. I wanted to understand the community I had chosen to put down roots in.
At first, I thought the answer would come from attending all the local events, searching online, and keeping up with EVERYTHING happening around town. Instead, I found it in conversations.
A chat with a cashier. A pottery class. A random conversation over a cup of coffee. Knocking on my neighbors' doors just to introduce myself. Every interaction revealed another side of Moore County, and with each one, my curiosity grew.
I wanted to know what brought people here. Why they stayed. What made this place so special to them.
What inspired a business owner to build their dream here? What fuels the creativity of local artists? What incredible stories are hidden behind the people we pass every day without ever knowing?
I realized that every person carries a unique perspective, and together, those perspectives reveal the true character of a community built by people who genuinely care.
That's when the idea for Moore About Moore was born.
Not as a business directory.
Not as a tourism guide.
But as a collection of stories celebrating the people who give this community its character.
Meet the Storyteller
Hi, I'm Maureen.
I'm a marketer, community engagement professional, and journalist who loves bringing people together and helping organizations share what makes them unique.
Over the years, I've worked in nonprofit leadership, the arts industry, community outreach, branding, and event planning. No matter the role, I've always found myself drawn to the same thing: creating meaningful connections.
Moore About Moore brings together everything I enjoy most: storytelling, filmmaking, creativity, community, and the opportunity to meet incredible people.
My hope is that these conversations help longtime residents see their community through fresh eyes while giving newcomers a welcoming introduction to the people who make Moore County such a special place.
